Everyone Loves to Tailgate!
Summer is coming to an end and fall is on its way… with fall comes football season! Here in Kentucky we all bleed blue and love our sports. Tailgating during football season is a must and it’s one of the most fun times of the year, so we are going to tell you how to get started with your tailgate rentals.
When it comes to rentals we rent just about anything you would need to throw a fantastic party. For tailgates we rent tents, chairs, tables, and linens. We even rent coolers, charcoal grills, chafing dishes, and heaters when it begins to get cooler.
If you have ever been tailgating to a University of Kentucky football game you should know that it is quite a busy and fun scene. You will see tents with food, drinks, and blue everywhere. Purdon’s would love to help all of the UK fans have a blast tailgating, so call us for more rental information!
Getting engaged is one of the most exciting moments in your life! However, it is in the days after you celebrate your engagement that are seen as the most stressful, not to mention that their budget begins to grow. Weddings can be expensive, but there is a simple solution for everyone: Budgeting.
Typically in Kentucky, the cost of an average wedding is around $20,000-$30,000. Those who dream of getting married imagine how fun it is to plan, get their hair and makeup done, create their flower arrangements, and choose their band or DJ. What some brides forget about is the amount of work and money that goes into each category of planning a wedding. Not only do brides have to plan for their hair and makeup, floral arrangements, and music, but they also have invitations, catering and beverages, a videographer, photographer, wedding cake, rentals, and venue. Some brides sometimes also choose to include wedding favors for the guests or even a wedding planner. This budget however does not include the bride’s dress or honeymoon fund. This budget is based off of a $20,000 budget and a 150 guests.
While this is a basic budget, many people may find through the process that they choose to spend more or less on a particular aspect of their wedding. It is also important to note if you are planning a tent wedding, rental percentage will be considerably higher. Each wedding and budget are different.
Luckily for brides, each category has been broken down into a percentage of an overall budget. The highest percentage of your budget will be catering and beverages/alcohol at 29%. 13% of your budget goes to your photographer who helps you capture the most beautiful moments on your special day. 10% goes to your venue and your florist; totaling up to 20%. 6% of your budget goes into choosing your band or DJ, 5% to choosing your cake, and 4% is used for wedding favors if desired. Some brides also choose to have a videographer help document their special day and if you so choose to have a videographer we estimate to spend around 9% of your budget. For the rest of the bride’s budget, 3% goes towards rentals and invitations, 2% goes into the bride’s hair and makeup and the last bit is for paying your officiant.
When polled, a majority of brides say their favorite part of planning was creating their floral arrangements and decorating their venue. I could understand why those would be their favorite aspects. Because every wedding is different and the decorations help to portray the bride and groom. Are they trendy, artsy, modern, vibrant? Each wedding is special, and we are hoping to make the process as stress free as possible. We wish each bride happy planning and we hope that your wedding day is exactly as you have always dreamt it!
